Tricycle
was called together in 1999 by the Belgian
accordionist/pianist Tuur Florizoone.
The limited setting of this trio – accordion,
soprano saxophone and double bass – evokes
creativity and imagination. The research
of sounds and new possibilities of the
instruments results in a very personal
and organic way of playing their own
original compositions, spiced with interaction
and improvisation.
Some people call it 'jazz', others
say 'world' or 'imaginary'... the choice
is up to the listener.
Since the release of their first album
'ORANGE FOR TEA' in December 2004 they
played many concerts in Belgium and elsewhere:
Canada , Brazil , China , France , Germany
, a.s.o.
Tuur Florizoone starts
studying the piano at the age of 6.Later
on, he studies both piano and percussion
at Académie de Leuven
His participation at both several editions
of Jeunesse Musicale and other music
festivals brings him an extremely fast
appreciation from the specialists and
the audience.
At the age of 17 he goes to Brazil
for a year accompanied by an accordion.
After being in touch with the South American
music, he decides to deepen his knowledge
of this instrument that will touch his
life for ever. He plays in various groups
and takes part in various workshops led
by Nana Vasconcelos, Gilberto Gil and
Mestre Ambrosio.
When he comes back to Belgium he gets
accepted at the Conservatoire Royal de
Bruxelles at the jazz section where he
continues his piano studies. Now he teaches
piano and composition at „Jazz
Studio“ in Anvers .
In 1999 he founds Tricycle whose structure
has changed over the years. They play
theirs own compositions of both jazz
and folk in a free, improvised manner.
The group has played on various European
stages.
As a musician he is part of various
groups that play a wide range of music
such as Arabic folklore, classical music,
folk, a.s.o. He is also involved in vast
projects of composing and arranging in
the movie, theatre and circus areas.

at “Maison de la poésie” in
Namur and composes music on the lyrics
of well-known poets.

as a sideman, getting involved in various
musical projects.
Philippe Laloy studies flute, alto
saxophone, chamber music, improvisation
and harmony at Académie de Waterloo,
Université de Lethbridge, Conservatoire
de Bruxelles.
His numerous activities in the musical
domains – jazz, folk, rock, classical
music – progressively make him
an eclectic musician whose language is
touched by all these influences.
During the past 8 years he has been
part of various musical projects involving
the South American folklore, traditional
music, jazz, flamenco, Eastern music,
chansonnettes. He played on many stages
in Europe and Asia .
